yesterday, on my long commute home, i picked up karen at jfk subway station. our original plan was to head straight home so that we could weed our garden. the garden in our front lawn has been invaded by weeds. in fact, i can't tell what is a weed and what is not a weed in the garden. that is how bad the garden is.
anyway, mother nature was not cooperating because the clouds simply poured on our ride home. (had i still been working in town, i would definitely have needed hot amy's umbrella... and possibly the $2 sheeley shuttle... had the shuttle not been sold...) as both karen and i were hungry on our way home (and also unable to weed due to the rain), karen decided to call my favorite sister-in-law (janine).
as it turns out, my nephew (pj) is going to first grade this year. to celebrate, pj wanted to go to bugaboo creek located in braintree. now i suck at bugaboo creek. i haven't been to bugaboo creek in quite some time. regardless, karen and i got to tag along for the celebration.
my nephew cracks me up. apparently, he loves the animated talking moose head that hangs on the wall inside the restaurant. every time the moose started talking, pj would just intently watch.
needless to say, the food at bugaboo was delicious. (i had grilled trout.) afterwards, karen and i got to hang out for a little while back at janine and pj's. while there, i got to play with my niece (kaleigh). playing with kaleigh always cracks me up because she is just so bossy when she plays. she likes to "jump" as high as she can; sometimes even swing. and we got to play with pj's magnets and marbles. anyway, although it doesn't seem like much, playing with kaleigh definitely made the day a good day.
