it's true. i have no life. rather than partying on a friday night, i'm at home... writing this post. some might say that i suck at having a life... which right now i would agree. i was actually hoping that my bff (kerry) would come down for a little veronica mars visit tonight. unfortunately, due to the inclement weather, she was unable to visit. bummer.
so, i'm pretty much at home tonight... twiddling my thumbs. for anyone curious, karen is trying her hand at baking a chocolate pecan pie for tomorrow. the pie sounds yummy.
anyway, tonight i had my first experience at the chipotle mexican grill. yes, i suck at chipotle mexican grill. i guess you can say i was a chipotle virgin. and my first time was with a burrito... it sounds so kinky, i know.
i always heard about the chipotle mexican grill. i just never went there. so when the chipotle opened in quincy, i was quite curious as to trying out the food. lo and behold, tonight presented the perfect opportunity for me to go... (again, since i have no life...)
after visiting karen's grandmother (nana) in the nursing home, karen and i went to karen's parents to drop off the laundry. by laundry, i am not referring to karen or my laundry... because that would be odd. i was referring to karen's grandmother's laundry. karen's mother does her laundry since nana is in the nursing home.
so, we were going to drop off nana's laundry with karen's parents in quincy. needless to say, i was getting pretty hungry on the ride there. we decided to stop off at chipotle to grab a quick bite to eat.
i must say, the food was good. the parking at chipotle is bad... but the food was good. i ordered a steak burrito... filled with rice... black beans... corn chili salsa... and guacamole. for anyone curious, guacamole costs extra. it apparently was a good night because i was not charged for the guacamole... to which i say "thanks little b!"... even though i'm sure my son (braden aka little b) would agree with me that daddy doesn't need the heaping spoonful of extra calories.
needless to say, the burrito was a good size. the burrito was messy... but quite filling. i was pleasantly surprised. and as of yet, i have not felt any ill effects from eating the large portion of mexican food... which is always good. so yes, i would go back to chipotle again. the food was good.
