I Suck At Casting

last night when i was watching the greatest show ever: buffy the vampire slayer, i started to think more and more about who i would cast as karen if there were ever a movie about all of us. too bad i suck at casting.

i actually started to think about the casting choice over the weekend when i saw "get smart" with my friends (marc and kelley). the movie "get smart" stars anne hathaway from the princess diaries fame. at one time, it was suggested that anne hathaway be cast as karen. i believe the idea of anne hathaway first came about when a bunch of us were joking around and uploaded a few of our images to a genealogy website that used facial recognition to match the image to a celebrity's image. (apparently, my friends and i are trendsetters in this "who would play you" idea.)

anyway, the uploaded image of karen returned the result of anne hathaway. anne hathaway is not a bad choice. (it definitely beats rosie o'donnell, that's for sure.) for a while, a bunch of us were content with anne hathaway as karen because we could not really think of anyone else.

needless to say, i thought more and more about my casting choice for karen since this weekend. and whether i have been influenced by the greatest show ever: buffy the vampire slayer or not, i am going to cast alyson hannigan as karen. (alyson hannigan played willow in the show... and is also known for her role in the american pie movies.)

(pictured below is alyson hannigan as karen.)

truth be told, one of the reasons i had watched buffy the vampire slayer... in addition to buffy of course... was willow. during the early seasons, willow reminded me a lot of karen. in fact, as marc, kelley, karen and i are watching buffy again, i still see the similarities. and since alyson hannigan played such a great willow, i figured i'd cast her as karen.
