for those of you who are curious, kerry is a finicky eater. a grilled cheese, however, is one of the few items kerry absolutely loves. so, the grilled cheese theme made sense. plus, the pot luck gave us a reason to visit the mean streets of medford where kerry lives. i like to have fun with kerry and say how medford is so far away. (medford really is not that far away. and for anyone interested, the medford high cheerleading squad apparently won the national championships in cheerleading... who knew?)
anyway, the rest of us (karen, jen and myself) brought a potato product (tater tots), fritos, and drinks to go with the grilled cheese theme. needless to say, i had a great time. all of us hung around her kitchen, eating, laughing, drinking. it was fun. (pictured below is kerry with her tongue sticking out trying to open something.)
plus, the grilled cheese was quite delicious. i don't think i've ever seen kerry cook before. after saturday, i would say kerry makes very good grilled cheese sandwiches (which may be why the food is one of her favorites). her secret may be the potato bread used for the slices of bread.
anyway, i had fun... and that was even before the many bottles of vodka were brought out. (it turns out kerry has many types of vodka at her place. i don't know why, but she does... and each one... tastes so good going down. granted, some tasted better than others going down...) i even learned a tidbit of information that jen has flat feet. i never knew.
so all in all, it was fun. we also got to test her cake dessert afterwards (which was also good). perhaps i'll have to visit the mean streets of medford more often.
