yesterday, i saw my friends (marc and kelley). marc was feeling a little under the weather, so we decided to order out for some food (the little duck in quincy). needless to say, all of us just hung out... ate dinner... watched "lost" and watched some of the celtics game.
as i customarily use marc and kelley's bathroom scale, i decided to weigh myself one last time in the name of high intensity interval training (hiit). i still suck at high intensity interval training. my workout ended last week but i forgot to record any data. anyway, the magic number last night was 181.6 pounds.
granted, i've been a little preoccupied this week with my landscaping from hell project in which i've been sod-busting and dirt transferring and all that fun stuff... so the numbers may be a little askew. when i first weighed myself after beginning the high intensity interval training, i weighed in at 191.8 pounds. for those eight weeks of the workout, i only performed the hiit. i did not do any other cardiovascular workout in conjunction. i did not even strength train (which i currently am missing because i feel like such a "girlie" man right now after shoveling all that dirt around... stupid landscaping project).
thus, based on the quasi-data that i do have, it does seem to appear that the high intensity interval training actually works. i have lost approximately 10 pounds during the timeframe of the workout... which is not bad.
i have even been thinking about restarting the workout again in a couple of weeks, so please let me know if any of you are interested... (for the record, training by yourself... not fun.) i may even look for a different type of hiit workout. so we'll see how it goes... or maybe, i'll work on organizing my bosu army... we'll see.
