I Suck At Wearing Sunglasses

yesterday, i took the subway train home with my friend (carlos).

we chatted about the usual: work, drinking, and some other stuff. anyway, on the ride home, there was some person singing... out loud. it seemed to go on forever. carlos suggested that we both just break out into a song and dance routine. as tempting as it sounded, i declined.

anyway, as i was watching the person sing, i noticed another friend (aimee). aimee waved at me as she was a few feet further down. (and no, it was not aimee who was singing. although it if were, i would have loved to have seen her randomly sing out loud on the subway train. i would have put it up on this blog if she had.)

it's funny. we... or maybe i... used to make fun of aimee for her musical taste when we were growing up. aimee was big into the alternative music before alternative music was so popular. she was a big "cure" fan. naturally, i used to joke with her by saying that "the cure is god". who knew the saying works on so many levels? (interestingly enough, i actually like the cure myself. in fact, i seem to like a lot of the music aimee liked growing up... except for pearl jam. aimee is a diehard pearl jam fan... so i have to say pearl jam sucks! just kidding!)

anyway, what does this have to do with sunglasses (as this post is titled)? well, apparently during the train ride home, aimee sent me a text message asking me why i wear my sunglasses underground on the subway platform. i didn't get the text message until afterwards when i got home. but to answer the question as to why i wear my sunglasses... "so i can... so i can..." (thank you corey hart.) but yes, i suck at wearing sunglasses. if i didn't have them on during the subway ride home, i probably would have seen aimee earlier.

Isn't Karen always telling you not to wear your sunglasses on the train? I have been on the train with a singing guy before...he actually wasn't bad. The other people on the train are probably grateful that you and Carlos didn't break out into song :-) No tall guy yesterday? LOL!

i forgot about the singing woman! that was a little weird. you forgot to mention that it was a duet, though. there was an old man sitting across from her and he got up and stood with her and sang, lol. that was a really strange day for me on the t. have you ever seen that weirdo who gets on at north quincy? he carries a briefcase and always complains about how there are no seats, and harasses people until someone gets up and gives him one. anyway, on friday he got on and was going on and on as usual, and then all of a sudden he starts saying, "MY BACK! MY BACK! SOMEBODY SCRATCH MY BACK!" and kept going to different people asking them to scratch his back, lol.

and PEARL JAM DOES NOT SUCK!
