I Suck At The Hancock Tavern

today is the normal day that i don the chauffeur cap and drive the two miss daisies (karen and hot amy) home from simmons college where they teach a course together. fortunately for today, i got the night off from my driving duties because one of the speakers for the class is hot amy's friend and she offered to drive them back to quincy.

i'm slightly saddened to not drive karen and hot amy today because i was curious about how the whole plagiarism thing panned out. apparently, one of the students in the class had turned in an assignment that was an obvious cut/paste job without references. now, i may not be up on my cheating skills, but i'm pretty sure that i would either a) cite the source or b) paraphrase as opposed to passing something off as my own.

anyway, because i'm a heartless and cruel individual, i would have pulled up the website where the text was taken from, asked the student if she had used her own words for her assignment, and then if she said yes... show her the website and then expel her. if she said no, i probably would still expel her because her plagiarism is just dumb. everyone knows that passing something off as your own that is not your own is wrong. i guess lucky for the student, i'm not her professor.

regardless, i missed all the excitement of being a simmons educator. instead, i hung out at the hancock tavern with my friend (carlos). now, i suck at the hancock tavern. famished, i had a couple of beers and a "pilgrim's landing" sandwich with nachos for an appetizer. (carlos had a pizza... and plenty of beers.) the pilgrim's landing is a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce... very good.

carlos and i just hung out and had fun. carlos is a good guy. for anyone interested or for anyone who likes men who are somewhat exotic, he is currently not dating anyone. if you can get past the fact that he is still technically married, i'm sure you'll be quite pleased. anyway, karen met up with us afterwards. (i had ordered her a mediterranean pizza.) the three of us got to hang out some more. it was definitely fun.
