I Suck At The Cheesecake Factory

tonight, karen and i met up with our friends (hot amy, dolores, and loser tom) for dinner at the cheesecake factory located in braintree. too bad i suck at the cheesecake factory. i have not been to the cheesecake factory in quite some time (since august). in fact, i think the last time i was at the cheesecake factory was after my friend's (garv) wedding... the very wedding where i was out and about till the wee hours of early morning getting my inebriated friend (ron) home.

coincidentally, the last time i was at the cheesecake factory was also with dolores and hot amy... and the "yay breastfeeding" rally cry. apparently, the cheesecake factory seems to be the meeting place for dietitians (karen, hot amy, and dolores). (i have since found out that the reason the dietitians meet at the cheesecake factory is because hot amy loves the restaurant. all this time, i figured the restaurant was chosen because it was centrally located between the three of them.)

anyway, all of us were meeting to exchange christmas presents... as well as celebrate dolores's birthday. dolores's birthday is not until the 27th of this month... so before i forget... happy birthday dolores!

as usual, the food at the cheesecake factory was delicious. for anyone curious, i had the kobe burger... and i don't mean kobe in the "no means no" kobe bryant sense. (cue rachael ray's "yum-o" sound.)

it was good to see loser tom as well. loser tom is dolores's boyfriend. he's not really a loser. the moniker just stuck... in part because dolores had feared that all of us would think he was a loser when we first met him. dolores is funny that way. she tends to overthink a lot of things... like teaching. (she will also be teaching at simmons this semester.) i assume the overthinking is one of her quirks for being intelligent.

all in all, it was a good dinner. i think dolores had a good time, which is good considering the dinner was partly a celebration of her birthday. in fact, she mentioned that she always has a good laugh whenever she is with all of us.

among the topics of conversation: dolores's intimidating presence, turtle sex, tom going back to school, a genius, the reason why cities do not have a "j street", and hawaii... not necessarily in that order. so, it was a wide variety of topics. there were probably a bunch of other topics that i forgot to. i can only remember so many things... which reminds me... coincidentally, one of the other topics of conversation was memory and how babies learn things from all of their senses.

so naturally, in my attempt to help with my own memory, please do not be alarmed the next time i see you and i a) put your hand in my mouth and/or b) sniff all around you. apparently, the tactile and olfactory sense is supposed to help with memory... or so i have been told. i will have to put that to the test.

as a side note, in addition to dinner, i was able to get new lenses for my glasses. my other lenses were cracked (due to too many beer goggles i suppose). luckily, the lenscrafters in the south shore mall was not too far from the cheesecake factory. so maybe vision will help with my memory too...
