I Suck At The 99 Restaurant

tonight, karen and i went to the 99 restaurant. now, i suck at the 99 restaurant. i think the last time i was at the 99 was either with my favorite brother-in-law (pj) after one of those helping the family days or with karen after one of those let's go out to eat days. i can't remember. you'd think having a blog would help my memory...

anyway, i think the 99 is the restaurant of choice for pj. it seems like pj, my favorite sister-in-law (janine), my niece (kaleigh), and my nephew (pj) go there quite often. i guess it doesn't hurt that one of their neighbors also works there too. tonight was no different.

on a whim, we decided to see what janine and pj were doing. after all, we had not seen all of them since we returned from our vacation. (we also have not seen my parents or karen's parents... so they will most likely be on the visiting soon list too.)

as it turned out, all of them were at the 99 restaurant located in rockland. so, karen and i met up with them for dinner. the 99 was serving a special involving tortellini stuffed with butternut squash. it was very good. (cue rachael ray's "yum-o" sound.) if only my friend (hot amy) knew how to make pasta stuffed with butternut squash... i would so wager that because i know i'd win in any competition against her. but oh well.

kaleigh made a bracelet for our son (braden) out of... i believe it's called a wicky stick... but the more i think about it right now, the more i'm not so sure that the thing is really called that. for anyone curious, "wicky stick" is a term used for marijuana. so it seems odd that my niece would make a bracelet from cannabis... unless maybe that waxy stringy thing is where the slang term came from... whatever the item is actually called, kaleigh made a bracelet for braden. kaleigh was cute because she asked us if the bracelet would fit braden's arm... if only she knew how tiny braden's arm really was.

needless to say, it was a very enjoyable dinner. as usual, karen and i had a good time with janine, pj and the kids.

UPDATE: i happen to stumble upon the thing that kaleigh was playing with... it's called "wikki stix"... so it is not exactly the marijuana based toy.
