I Suck At Not Your Average Joe's

today, my friends (marc and kelley) and i went to lunch. the place that we went to for lunch: not your average joe's located in norwell... of course. now i suck at not your average joe's.

it was definitely great to do something different for lunch. i generally have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch because it's easy: bread, peanut butter, jelly... done. as much as i enjoy peanut butter and jelly (and i really do), the routine does get a little boring after awhile.

luckily for me, it just so happens that kelley is on vacation this week. and as marc was done with class early... very early... the three of us went out for lunch. needless to say, lunch was delicious.

the bread at not your average joe's is aways very good. (cue rachael ray's "yum-o" sound.) i could probably eat just their bread and be happy. nonetheless, i decided on having the veggie burger. once upon a time, karen had ordered the veggie burger there and was surprised to find the veggie burger patty made with beets. wondering if it were still the case, i ordered the veggie burger.

for anyone curious, there were no beets in the veggie burger patty today. from what i remember from karen's veggie burger experience, today's veggie burger suffered from the same ailment: lack of a good binding agent. (and by binding agent, i am not referring to the effects on the intestines.) i was referring to the patty's ability to stay together. the patty was a little soft and mushy... seemingly consisting of just brown rice.

anyway, the veggie burger was good... but a little messy. i even tried the monthly special on the beer menu: "the green monsta"... in hopes of jump starting the anemic boston red sox this year. (thus far in the early season, the red sox have been terrible. but, it's early...)

all in all, i had a great time with marc and kelley. we basically just hung out and had fun. kelley recently finished the resident evil 5 video game, which we discussed. gotta love zombies... speaking of video games, we also discussed something called "architect" for the city of heroes online game. the architect update allows user created content for the game. so now users of the game can create their own missions. the update seems like a totally interesting concept. perhaps someday, i'll start gaming...
