I Still Suck At Buffy The Vampire Slayer

last night, karen and i got to see our friends (marc and kelley). marc and kelley were in washington dc for a good portion of the week, so we could not meet up on our regularly schedule wednesday. so instead, we met up yesterday.

for anyone curious, kelley was attending a conference in washington dc for work. both kelley and marc seemed to have a good time. i did not hear of any spy vs. spy episode where marc tried to kill kelley or vice versa this time around, so i'm guessing things were pretty good.

i've only been to washington dc once thus far and it was quite memorable. aside from seeing the zoo, the museums, the famous landmarks and monuments, the white house, and ben's chili bowl, i got to tell the police that my eyes were blue in washington dc. (for anyone curious, my eyes are not blue.)

after visiting arlington national cemetery, karen and i (and a few other tourists) actually witnessed a woman jumping off a bridge. it was quite memorable to say the least. this woman was sitting on the bridge with her feet dangling off of the side of the bridge. the next thing you know, she pushes herself off... plummeting into the water.

luckily, the woman was okay. the police came to take statements from everyone. one of the police officers asked what color my eyes were... and naturally i said blue. in my defense, i have been conditioned to say "blue" for eye color now thanks to karen and the whole incident whereby my friends asked me what color karen's eyes were after i made the claim that i was an "eye-guy". (my answer then was "hazel", which i have been told is nowhere near blue.) nonetheless, i told the police officer my eyes were blue... to which he told me not to speak again. oh well.

anyway, kelley prepared a nice chicken dinner with rolls, couscous and aparagus. it was very good. (cue rachael ray's "yum-o" sound.) kelley is quite the cook these days.

the four of us hung out and watched another episode of heroes... to which marc seems to be losing interest in this season. (and i'll admit, the storylines have been a little convoluted of late.)

luckily, we watched some more episodes of buffy the vampire slayer afterwards. yep, i still suck at buffy the vampire slayer. the episodes we watched ("what's my line, part 1 and 2) introduced kendra, the other slayer. the storyline had to deal with buffy and her bleak future outside of being a vampire slayer during "career week". it was also the first time xander and cordelia first smooch.

it's amazing how much i forget when i haven't seen the episodes in a while. it's such a good show. watching buffy again has definitely been a nice escape from reality... if even for a couple of hours.
