I Suck At Road House

last night was my usual day to hang out with my friends (marc and kelley).

as karen and i were home the entire day, marc and kelley came to our place for dinner. (we usually end up either going to their place for dinner, eating take out there, or going somewhere local to eat because we cut through quincy on our way home from work.)

so, we had a little cookout... complete with marinaded chicken, grilled vegetables, corn and couscous. (cue rachael ray's "yum-o"! sound). that was just the beginning of the fun.

it just so happened that yesterday, amc (american movie classics) was showing a particular movie on cable when we were done with dinner. that movie... road house. now, i suck at road house. (truth be told, patrick swayze and the rest of the cast of that movie should be saying the same thing.) for anyone who does not know what the movie roadhouse is about... the 1989 movie classic is about a "cooler" or bouncer (in this case, patrick swayze) hired to tame a dirty bar in a small town in the midwest. i don't know who thought this plot would be good, but somehow the movie was made... complete with the star power of patrick swayze.

neither karen nor kelley have ever seen the movie. after last night, i'm sure they wish they still hadn't. (although, they did seem pretty into the movie.) marc, however, loves the movie. he considers road house one of the best awful movies of all time. so naturally, he was quite excited to watch road house last night.

needless to say, all of us had some laughs last night... compliments of patrick swayze and road house.
