I Suck At Hannah Montana Parties

yesterday, i had the pleasure of attending a hannah montana birthday party. my friends (hugh and jenny) have a daughter (allison, aka ally) who turned five years old. where has the time gone?

anyway, ally wanted a hannah montana party. as is customary, hugh and jenny held ally's birthday party at her grandparents' house located in weymouth. her grandparents have a pool. in addition to the pool, there was a moonwalk, a karaoke machine, and a dancing area for the hannah montana themed party. (i was quite tempted to use the moonwalk machine to attempt yet again... another kip-up... sadly, i'm still feeling some discomfort from my one and only attempt.)

for anyone who does not know who hannah montana is (i would be surprised if you did not know because the marketing juggernaut known as disney has promoted the heck out of hannah montana)... hannah montana is the character played by miley cyrus (who's real name is actually destiny hope cyrus). according to my friend wikipedia,

"The series focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus) by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night."

basically, i would consider hannah montana as jem-lite... or even possibly jem: the teenage years. (for anyone who doesn't know who jem is... jem is truly truly truly outrageous. she was an animated character who led a double life much like the character of miley stewart.)

anyway, i suck at hannah montana parties. lucky for me, i "get the best of both worlds" by hanging out with my group of friends. the party, though, was good. ally got a whole slew of interesting gifts. so, i imagine that she enjoyed her birthday party very much.
