I Suck At El Sarape

on friday, karen and i decided to grab a bite to eat after work. both of us have been trying to budget our expenses so that we can work toward our goal of becoming millionaires. in general, it's probably a good idea just to know where all the money that we work so hard to earn goes to.

unfortunately, this month has not exactly been great for our budget. we have already gone over our allotted budget for dining out and the month is not even finished yet. naturally with that in mind, i suggested to karen that we... of all things... go out for dinner after work. as we already had gone over our budget, i figured... what was a few dollars more? and truth be told, karen and i had a bad week.

in particular, i had an emotional week just thinking about my son (braden) who passed away in september of last year. nothing in particular triggered my thoughts this week about braden. there was no anniversary or anything. i simply just woke up a few days thinking about my little angel. even as i type this now, i have in the back of my mind the "what if" thought about what if braden is the only child karen and i will ever have... and how it's a pretty cruel joke to be parents for only a week. so needless to say, i thought it would be nice to treat ourselves to dinner... budget or no budget.

anyway, karen and i went to el sarape located in weymouth. now, i suck at el sarape. karen and i have not been there in quite some time. my favorite sister-in-law (janine) had been there recently, which is what sort of put the idea in karen's head. plus, karen was craving mexican food that night. so... el sarape it was.

the food was quite delicious at el sarape. in case anyone is curious, el sarape is in zagat's... as evident from all the framed zagat reviews hanging on one of the walls. karen and i each had a combination plate. my plate consisted of a beef burrito with green tomato sauce and the enchiladas rojas... yes, i was craving beef. needless to say, the meal was great. (cue rachael ray's "yum-o" sound.)

all in all, it was a good night. it was nice to not have to worry for a little while.
