I Suck At Easter

i suck at easter... probably because i have original sin. growing up, my family in an effort to be like the all-american family celebrated easter by making ham for dinner. we celebrated more of the commercial side of easter (the side involving the easter bunny and eggs as opposed to the side involving the resurrection of christ.)

so needless to say, today was no different. i began celebrating easter with a quick high intensity interval training workout. i rolled out of bed, visited the local high school track with karen, and promptly keeled over gasping for air after about two minutes. it was fun. luckily, i only have six more weeks of this workout experiment.

anyway, from there we went to my sister-in-law's (janine) to celebrate easter. they hosted easter last year, in which there was the first annual table tennis tournament among the relatives. being genetically predisposed to table tennis, i thought i would do well last year. sadly, that was not the case. regardless, thankfully this year there was no table tennis tournament. in fact, there weren't that many relatives attending today's events. it was a nice and quiet easter involving my brother-in-law's (pj) parents, his brother mark, karen's parents, and karen's grandmother. in fact, everyone played nintendo's wii. so, it was like a happy wii-ster... it was quite entertaining watching the older individuals attempt to play with the wii. (pictured below is my niece kaleigh during the easter egg hunt portion of the day.)

needless to say, janine did a great job as usual hosting easter. the food was delicious... and i must have eaten a ton of asparagus. i'm quite lucky to have her as a sister in law, and i don't say that just because she likes egg salad as much as i do.
