today, i went to workout during my lunch break. now, i have been counting in my head to keep track of time for when i need to switch up from jogging to sprinting and vice versa for the high intensity interval training that i am doing because the battery in my watch died. i thought it would be no problem to keep track of the time in my head because i'm normally a slow counter. i was so wrong. lately, i have begun to notice that, as i am keeled over gasping for air, i am counting breaths as opposed to seconds.
so, i decided to ask my coworkers today if i could borrow a watch. little did i know, i suck at knowing my ipod. one of my coworkers (tim) pointed out that i could simply use the timer on my ipod. i never ever thought about using the timer in the ipod. in fact, i didn't even know that function existed. i have only ever used my ipod to play music. that's all. in reality, i probably should have known that the timer function existed as it was an electronic device after all.
in case anyone was curious, the timer function is one of the "extras" in the menu list. who knew? certainly not me. and in case anyone was also curious, running with an ipod and checking the time... very difficult. hopefully i can learn to run with my ipod or find a battery for my watch.
