Okay, so I have been a running a little behind in my postings.
Last Sunday, Karen and I decided to take the family out for breakfast. The destination: the Brant Rock Hop located in Marshfield. Now, we've only been to the Brant Rock Hop one time prior to Sunday. The first time was a result of curiosity after reading about the place in the magazine, South Shore Living. Since we enjoyed it the last time, we figured we would try it again, particularly since Karen has been craving their milk shakes.
Compared to the Tinker's Son experience the day before, the Brant Rock Hop was much better by leaps and bounds. The hostess at the Brant Rock Hop informed us that in addition to the wait for getting a table, there would be a wait for the actual food because something happened in the kitchen. I must say... Kudos to the Brant Rock for setting expectations with the customer! And truth be told, the length of time that Karen and I had to wait for a table and for our food was far less than what was originally told us. So yay Brant Rock.
In addition to the set expectations, the food at the Brant Rock was quite delicious. Karen and I had our shake. Surprisingly to both Karen and I, our two year old daughter (Briana) was not so much into the shake. And for anyone curious, I ordered the "Delightfully Delicious", which was quite... delicious.
Anyway, after the great breakfast, we decided to continue family day by going to the Green Earth Fest. Now, I suck at Green Earth Fest. The Green Earth Fest is an annual event held at the South Shore Natural Science Center in Norwell. Interestingly enough, based on the name one would think that the event would be held on Earth Day, which was the week before. This was the first time that I have been, so I don't exactly know how many years the event has been going on for.
All in all, it was a fun event. For an eco-nut, like myself, I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were exhibits and workshops about gardening, woodworking, and whatnot. There were crafts for the kids. There was music. Heck, there were even animals at the event beside the ones found in the South Shore Natural Science Center (like the owl and the iguana). I think Briana enjoyed the cow the most. By the way, a cow... is huge.
Needless to say, it was a great Sunday. I got to spend some quality time with my family. I've been feeling a little guilt-ridden lately, in part because Briana keeps asking "Daddy home?" before she goes to bed at night. I used to see Briana more often when I worked from home. With my new job and its long hours, I don't get to see her as much as I would like. Hence, the guilt. Of course, my two year old could be just playing me too so that she can get what she wants. We'll see...
