I Suck At Basta Pasta Enoteca

Friday night, my friends (Cass, Ellen, Marc, Kelley), Karen, and I celebrated the birthdays of my other friends (Garv and Leeann). Both Garv and Leeann were born in the month of January. As is customary within our circle of friends, we generally get together for each other's birthdays.

For Garv and Leeann, the restaurant of choice was Basta Pasta Enoteca located in Quincy. Now I suck at Basta Pasta Enoteca.

Basta Pasta is located where the Tullio's restaurant used to be, which is also across from the infamous pay-by-the-hour Ritz. For anyone curious, I personally have never been in a pay-by-the-hour motel... unlike Garv. And for anyone curious, Garv was with other guys at a pay-by-the-hour motel. How scandalous! Just kidding. Needless to say, the Ritz is no longer there.

Anyway, Basta Pasta was great. When I first entered the place, I was a little perplexed because smack dab on the huge television screen were men walking a runway modeling a vast assortment of clothes. I thought the show was strange, but definitely something Garv would watch. As it turned out, the fashion show had everyone glued to the screen. It was weird to see everyone focused on the show.

The seating within Basta Pasta is a little cramped, but not that bad. In fact, our party of eight was seated pretty quickly. And the place seemed like it had a constant flow of patrons.

As for the food, the food was quite delicious. I ordered the homemade chicken parmigiana panini. Not only was the panini good, it was huge. The panini was definitely worth it. The chicken was sliced thin. The sauce was great. (Cue Rachael Ray's "Yum-O" sound.) Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Anyway, it was great hanging out with everyone. I always have fun when I'm with all of them. After all, we simply have silly topics of discussion. For instance, it turns out that Robert Downey Jr may be on Kelley's list... if she had a list. Apparently, she was a big fan of his facial hair. Who knew?

All in all, it was a great time.
