I Suck At Angel

On Wednesday, Karen and I hung out with my friends (Marc and Kelley).

Marc was gracious enough to make dinner. As usual, the meal was delicious. And luckily for me, I got to finish off what Karen could not. I guess that is part of the benefits of having a pregnant wife. (I suppose you could also say it's a drawback as well because I have gained about five pounds since Karen became pregnant.)

Anyway, on the agenda for the night were a few episodes of Angel. Now, I suck at Angel. The episodes that we watched were: "Waiting in the Wings" about a supernatural dance troupe; "Couplet" about the return of the Groosalugg; and "Loyalty" about Wes confirming the translation of the prophecy.

Interestingly enough, starring in the dance troupe episode was Summer Glau. Apparently, Summer Glau was so good in the ballerina role that it eventually led her to read for another Joss Whedon gig on Firefly. Also interesting is the fact that Amy Acker, the actress who plays Fred, actually inspired the episode because Joss Whedon discovered that she had taken ballet for fifteen years. (The original story was to have her and Wes dancing ballet together.)

Needless to say, the episodes were great. Following Angel, we decided to catch a couple of episodes of Human Wrecking Balls. In the two episodes, the Pumphrey brothers got to destroy a post office and a fast food restaurant. And as it turned out, Nurse Abby actually got some face time in one of the episodes because Craig received a nasty gash on his head from breaking plates. (And people think Nurse Abby is useless...)

Anyway, as usual it was great hanging out with Marc and Kelley.
