I Suck At Cafe Fleuri

On Saturday, Karen and I went into town to celebrate Karen's birthday. For anyone curious, Karen's birthday was actually yesterday. For her birthday, she wanted to partake in the chocolate bar offered by Cafe Fleuri at the Langham in Boston.

I guess you can say that I suck at Cafe Fleuri because I've never been to the chocolate bar. And I'll admit it. I was quite intrigued by the prospect of devouring nothing but chocolate for hours. So like any good husband, I made reservations for Saturday to celebrate Karen's birthday.

Needless to say, the chocolate bar was outstanding. I practically devoured mounds upon mounds of delicious chocolate within the first few minutes. It wasn't until later that Karen and I decided to pace ourselves and actually split some of the chocolate desserts. After all, the desserts were pretty large to begin.

After some time, however, we had to take a little break from the chocolate. So naturally, we devoured their home-made chips which were also delicious. And for anyone curious, there were actually some vegan desserts too. The vegan fruit cobbler was so good that I had two.

Following some more chocolate desserts, we ended our chocolate bar experience with... chocolate ice cream. Yum! It was definitely a great way to end the chocolate bar.

Afterwards, we took a little walk around town. It felt pretty nostalgic, since I hadn't been in town for quite some time. As an interesting side note, during our walk around town, we saw Ms. Colombia. Decked out in a red dress with a huge tiara, she was getting her picture taken by Rowe's Wharf. I tried to get Karen to use her birthday as a means to get Ms. Colombia to let her wear the tiara, but Karen wasn't too keen on the idea.

All in all, it was definitely a fun time. And I think Karen enjoyed the day as well, which is really what matters.
