I Suck At Whip It

On Monday, I fed my movie addiction yet again by watching Whip It. Now, I suck at Whip It.

The movie, not to be confused with the song by Devo, was Drew Barrymore's directorial debut. The film itself is based on the novel Derby Girl by Shauna Cross, who also wrote the script for Whip It. Anyway, the movie stars Ellen Page (of Juno fame) as a misfit in a small Texas town who joins a roller derby league and starts taking charge of other aspects in her life.

Interestingly enough, I enjoyed the movie. Sadly, I still don't understand the rules of roller derby, but it does seem like an interesting sport now.
