I Still Suck At Infant Massages

Yesterday was the third and final lesson provided by Early Intervention for giving infant massages. Sadly, I still suck at infant massages. Hopefully, I will have a long long time to practice what I've learned on my baby daughter (Briana).

On the agenda for the final lesson were techniques for the face and certain yoga positions. I actually had a little chuckle with myself because I knew there already existed a pose in yoga called the happy baby pose. So naturally, I thought to myself... does all Briana do is lie on the ground and be herself?

Of course, I was totally mistaken. I guess that is why I suck at infant massages. And in case anyone is curious, I did not even learn the happy baby pose in the third and final lesson. Other yoga techniques were taught instead. Oh well.

Anyway, Briana seemed to enjoy the facial massage. She started cooing and making happy sounds. It was pretty wild to be able to watch her speak. I probably would be cooing too if someone gave me a facial massage. I've never had one, but I imagine it must be relaxing.

Needless to say, the infant massage lessons were great. I'm glad that I was able to learn them. The techniques even proved to be useful later that night. Let's just say that thanks to my magic hands, Briana eventually pooped in her diaper. Sure, it was not until close to midnight, but she pooped nonetheless. Prior to pooping, she had been a little fussy.

The power I wield in my hands...
