I Still Suck At Weighing In

well, it has been a week since my last weigh in.

i still suck at weighing in as i have the tendency to verify the precision of the scale by stepping on it multiple times within a given time frame. what can i say, it's part of the scientific side of me. (i should probably thank my 7th grade science teacher for teaching me about accuracy and precision... it's one of the few things i remember from middle school. so thanks!)

anyway, today's magic number is 187.8, which when compared to last week's weigh in number of 191.8, is a weight loss of 4 pounds. if i were on the tv show, "the biggest loser", that weight loss would be a percentage change of about 2.08%. as it turns out, i'd be above the "yellow line" if i were on the show this week.

i'm actually surprised by the weight loss because i feel i didn't really change my eating habits. according to my food log, i had averaged about 2500 calories a day, which i would say is a normal amount for maintaining my body. as i have not done any exercising other than the high intensity interval training, i would probably say that the workout is working. the only other possible confounding factor could be the fact that i am keeping a food journal and thus am realizing what and how much i am consuming.

speaking of which, thanks to my bff (kerry), i have actually decided to switch my food journal methodology. apparently, there is a site called fitday that offers an online weight loss and diet journal for free. so, rather than writing everything down on a piece of paper and inputting them later in a spreadsheet, i can simply track my food anytime online... much easier. so thanks kerry for the great idea.

anyway, i am nearing the end of week 2 for the high intensity interval training. i've still got 6 more weeks to go, so we'll see how the rest of the experiment goes.

  1. You are welcome... I can't use Fitday anymore because it just causes me to be slightly OCD about counting calories and that wasn't healthy either! But it is an easy program to use so have fun :)
